Clydach Terrace Flooding Risk Update June 2025

Yesterday, Natural Resources Wales (NRW) published their Outline Business Case (OBC) regarding the reduction of flood risk to homes along Clydach Terrace. We understand that many of you will be deeply disappointed to learn that NRW has decided not to proceed with the options they were previously considering.

However, we want to reassure residents that Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council (RCTCBC) remains fully committed to exploring solutions to mitigate the significant flood risk at Clydach Terrace. The safety of residents is their top priority, and they have confirmed that “nothing is off the table,” including the potential acquisition of properties where necessary.

RCTCBC is planning to hold a meeting with affected residents and our local borough councillors to discuss potential options and decide on next steps. This meeting will be a crucial opportunity for residents to have their voices heard, and the Community Council urges everyone impacted to attend.

Ynysybwl and Coed Y Cwm Community Council will continue to actively support the residents of Clydach Terrace throughout this challenging time, working closely with RCTCBC and advocating for the best possible outcome for our community.

We will share further updates as soon as they become available.
